St. Patty's Night at home

Amber, Steve and I had a small party at night. Liam and Conor were alseep and Jared was at work. I bought some green treats and made some kinda green food. We had a couple of Irish movies but decided we wanted to watch Stardust. It was a lot of fun thanks Amber and Steve for hanging out with me!

St. Patty's Day at The Zoo

We went to the Zoo on St. Patricks Day with Tana, Bronson, Sawyer, Steve and Steve's friend Joe. It was freezing at first but it was so much fun especially because there was hardly anyone there and the animals were very active. We all wore green which didn't really matter because we were bundled up but we made sure to take some pictures of our St. Patty's pride inside the snake exibit. Liam loved seeing the animals especially the elephants and snakes and Conor was just in awe of everything. It was the best trip we have had to the zoo!

Sorry to those of you who check my blog as you know I am horrible at keeping it updated but I am going to try to do better. We are doing great. The holidays were great we got to see a lot of family. The boys are doing well they have managed to get sick here and there during this winter but nothing serious. Jared is doing great with his job and I love being a stay at home mom. Jared has remodled a couple of our bathrooms and they look awesome. Everything is good.

Liam will be 3 in 3 months I can not believe it. He is doing great! He is into dinosaurs and dragons and is back to loving his favorite thing sharks and whales. He loves playing make believe with his toys. He even re-inacts whole scenes from his favorite movies like finding nemo it is really cute. He has a great memory and remembers everyting Jared and I say. He loves dancing to music and singing songs too. He also has a bit of terrible two attitude and finds himself on time out frequently but for the most part he is a really good boy. He is getting really good with Conor. He loves him and calls him the buds but still has a little trouble sharing toys. He loves playing with kids and is actually getting really good and sitting through sacrament so he can go to nursery. Conor is 8 months old now. He is doing great. Since he turned 7 months he has been crawling everywhere, pulling up on things and even scaling. He just really wants to get to wherever Liam is so he is really motivated to move. He is really happy and loves getting into things and playing with his brother. He laughs and babbles a lot more than he ever has. He is so much fun.

Halloween

This Year for Halloween I took Liam and Conor to a Trunk or Treat with Tana, Bronson and Sawyer on Friday which was a lot fun everyone complimented on Liam's shark costume and Sawyer and Conor looked adorable. Saturday when Jared got off work we all went trick-or-treating with Aaron and Lori's family. Liam was a shark which couldn't be more perfect. He put his costume on atleast five times before Halloween. Conor was a little duck he looked adorbale. I was bride of Frankenstein or something like that and Jared was a whoopie cushion. This was the first year we took Liam trick-or-treating. I think he had a great time he especially loved seeing all the costumes. He only lasted about a half hour which was perfect becasue it started to rain and we were all ready to be done. After trick-or treatng we went home and had Chili and cornbread and pumpkin pie cake and watched How To Train Your Dragon. We are going to have to hold off on the scary movies for awhile. It was a great Halloween.

Our Family Vacation

Jared had some vacation days so we decided to take a week vacation. We went to Sea World and the San Diego Zoo and visited both our families along the way. Conor is horrible in the car so we only drove at night. We broke up the trip by stopping in Parowan and Boulder City on the way there and back. It was a much needed vacation. Even with sometimes cranky kids and a long drive it was amazing. The kids had a great time and Jared and I didn't want to come home. Below are all the things we did. Enjoy.

First Stop

Our first stop on our way to Cali was Parowan. Actually I went to Parowan a few days before the trip to visit my fam and so we could leave as soon as Jared got there.

On our way to San Diego we stayed at Jared's parents house for a few days. Jon just returned home from his mission so it was great to see him and the rest of the family.

The Zoo

The first activity of our trip was the San Diego Zoo. It was beautiful and had so many amazing animals. Liam loved it ofcoarse especially the elephants which is his favorite animal at the moment. Conor slept half the time but woke up just in time to see the giraffes. It was a fun day.

Sea World

We decided to go to Sea World becasue Liam loves whales and sharks and all sea animals. He was in Heaven. He watched the Shamu show twice;he likes to call Shamu Willy. We went to the shark encounter which is where you see Liam and I looking up as the sharks swim above our heads. We had to do that one a few times. We also touched dolphins and fed seals. It was so much fun and Liam loved every bit which made us really happy.

There is this great farm down the street from us that we went to with Tana and Bronson. It has pony rides, a hay trampoline, petting zoo and great food! We had a lot of fun.

Everything is fantastic with the Smith family. Conor is three months old and has been a much happier baby. He smiles and coos now and doesnt't scream nearly as much. I am still getting used to being a mother of two. We have our rough days but I am learning. Liam loves his brother he likes to hold him, kiss him, hug him and sing to him. Liam is learning his shapes right now and almost has them down his favorite is octagon. It is suprisingly one of the first shapes he remembered but he struggles with circle and square; funny boy. Liam is also starting to sing songs which is so fun and sooo adorable. He sings Itsy Bitsy Spider, Popcorn Popping, the thomas theme song, Old Mcdonald and my favorite Five Little Monkeys which is the only one he sings all the words flawlessly thanks to aunt Cass.
Jared now works full time at the Walgreens in Saratoga Springs which is so nice! He recently participated in a pig wrestling event to promote H1N1 vaccinations. I will try to upload the video I took on my blog if not go to walgreens H1N1 swine killers on youtube it is hilarious.
We have been doing a lot of home improvments lately which has been a lot of fun.
Life is busy but we are enjoying eachother and our boys.

Cassidy is living with me this summer while she does an internship in speech pathology. We often like to do theme birthdays last year was Harry Potter. This year we decided to do Bollywood. Cass and I both love and admire everything about the East Indian culture from the food to the dancing, clothes and Bollywood movies. So naturally a Bollywood party would be fantastic. A woman from Tana's ward made us food and let us borrow clothes and movies. All of my family came except Nate (you were missed). Jareds's mom and sister Amber were there as well. We had a wonderful time!It was a party to remember. Namaste!

First month with Conor George

The first month of Conors life has been a little rough but we are so grateful for him. Conor has not been a very happy baby. At first he just cried and we didn't know what to do I was so frustrated and overwhelmed and so sad because I couldn' t do anything and because I was not spending any time with Liam it was a hard adjustment. Liam never cried so Conor was a bit of a shock. We soon figured out that Conor just really missed the womb. We have to rock him,and bounce him non-stop to keep him happy and to get him to sleep. He really loves the sound of the shower and loud music so combine either of those things with intense aerobic exercise moves and we can usually get him to sleep and keep him happy. Thank goodness I have had a lot of family to help. His worse moments are at night and he is getting a lot better. He has moments now where he will be awake and actually just chill without crying. Liam has done so well. He loves his little brother and always wants to hold him. I am so grateful for prayer and for family. I love our new addition more than anything. Fourth of July

I think Conor new we needed a break because he was great Fourth of July weekend. Amanda and Steve came to visit us for the weekend. We went shopping, went to a carnival, attempted family pictures and set off fireworks. We had a fantastic time. God Bless America.

Amber and her boyfriend Sam, Aaron and Lori and their kids, and Steve and Amanda joined us for fireworks and ice cream sundays. It was a lot of fun. Liam loved the fireworks and kept asking for more even though he was a little afraid of them. Conor slept the whole time which was a big change usually his worst awake time is at night. It was so great to be able to just enjoy everything.

Beautiful, baby boy Smith was born yesterday, June 2,2010. He weighs 7lbs 9oz and is 20 inches tall.

His mommy is a rock star. Cadie was amazing and Jared did wonderfully in the role of supporting coach/nervous daddy.

More to come when Cadie, baby and Jared are out of he hospital. For now both mom and baby are doing well.

The Aquarium

Jared had the day off so we went to an Aquarium in Sandy. My sister Tana and baby Sawyer came with us we has a great time; Liam especially. His favorite part was the shark tank of coarse. He kept running back and forth between that and a huge wall painted with hammerhead sharks. He loves hammerhead sharks!! He also loved the giant fish tank with Nemo and Dori. One of his favorite movies is Finding Nemo. Liam picked out a giant plastic shark and a stuffed hammerhead shark from the gift shop he was so excited he would not let them go. He just ran around the gift shop yelling "hammer" "shark." I love that liam loves sharks and whales and all ocean life and he knows the names of all the different kinds of sharks and whales. It was a fantastic day!

Amber (Jared's sister) came to visit us last Sunday. It was her birthday friday so we had a little party for her. It was a lot of fun! Liam really loves birthdays and when he sees a cake with candles he will exclaim "Happy". Liam loves Amber and they both love sharks. Amber showed Liam sharks on her ipod which is Liam's favorite thing to do.

Liam recenlty took up finger painting. He seemed to have fun. After he was done painting he decided to taste the paint. He didn't like it very well. I think he still prefers coloring with markers.

Just to let you all know that we finally found out what we are having! It's another boy!! We are really excited. Not only do we adore our first little boy we think it will be really fun for Liam to have a little brother plus we don't have to buy anyting. Christmas

This year we spent Christmas in Boulder City at the Smith's. It was great to have Jared's family all together. Christmas Eve we concentrated on the Savior by reading from the scriptures and listening to a Christmas story given by an Apostle. Liam loved Christmas this year. He still wasn't into unwrapping presents but he was excited when he got his presents. In fact he got his first two presents and was done for the day. One was his bike which he ran straight to and the other his whales and shark. Liam has been completely into whales and sharks they are his favorite thing. So we got him a toy Whale and Jared's parents got him a different whale and a shark.He just kept saying "whale shark whale shark." He carried them around with him all day and for the rest of the vacation. He wouldn't drop them for anything. He had three so he would rotate holding two at a time or stuff one under his arm so he could carry all three. They are still hes favorite toys. We got to saty in boulder for almost five days it was so much fun and a very relaxing just the break we needed. After, we went to Parowan and Mi Mi and Papa gave Liam a little piano and a rocking Giraffe that Papa made. He loved them and got on them immediately. I stayed in Parowan for a few days it was great to be with my family.

So I keep waiting for things to get less crazy so I can become a good blogger but I realized things will probably always be crazy and that is ok. We are finally moved into our house and getting things put away. It has been a long process and we still have so much to do. The first week we moved in I got the flu and was so sick then Jared got the flu. Also I have been trying to spend as much time with my sister Tana and the baby trying to be helpful and get ready for christmas. So my house is still a work in progress and I hardly helped my sister(she is amazing) but things are good. We love our house and we are so excited for christmas!

I left the fridge open while i was putting some groceries away and Liam climbed up and got an apple out of the drawer and started eating it while continuing to stand in the fridge. Eventually I got him out and he finished his apple on the floor. He has never eaten an apple whole but he sure enjoyed it. I wish he would eat veggies like he eats fruit.

We loved the lights at Temple Square! It has been such a long time since we have gone to look at them. We brought my sister Jillian with us which was fun and Liam went crazy he kept saying "light" "wow" and running around when we let him down. It was freezing but so beautiful and well worth it!

Liam is big into coloring and he is getting really good at naming all the colors his favorites are blue and orange but he also knows green, red, and sometimes pink and purple. I know I am really bad at updating my blog but things have been pretty busy. Every minute Jared had off we went house hunting and finally we found one. A darling little home in Saratoga Springs. We should be closing by the end of November. We can not wait. Also, the same day we found our house we found out that I was pregnant with our second child. Liam is obsessed with anything that has wheels and makes a noise. He gets so excited when he sees any of them. When he sees or hears a plane he says "me" which is his word for plane and points to the sky then makes the plane noise and moves his hand. He also loves when he sees a motorcycle and he is getting really good at saying it.

Hogle Zoo

We went to Hogle zoo recently. Liam has been to a zoo before but now he knows all the animals and the sounds they make. Liam loved all the animals especially the elephant and the monkeys. He makes the elephant noise by lifting his arm and making a high pitched noise. It was a very fun day at the zoo.

Pharmacist Jared

Jared passed both his tests and is now an official licensed Pharmacist. We are so happy. He works a lot but when he is off he gets to spend all of his time with us. To celebrate Liam and I made him a lovely sign. Liam had a lot of fun with the markers.

We had a family reunion in Parowan and in Escalante this summer. We went swimming in Mom and Kev's new pool which liam loved. Also, Liam is obsessed with four wheelers and lawn mowers he could ride them all day.

Packing, graduation, moving and more

I haven't posted for a while things have been pretty busy. Here is a quick update. I will add pictures when I find where I packed the chord that connects our camera to the computer. Jared graduated with a PHD in Pharmacy. He now insits that we all call him Dr. Smith. Actually he is really humble about it more humble than I would be. It is me who is insists we call him Dr. Smith. I am really proud of him. We haven't really got to celebrate or breath. After graduation we moved to Provo, UT. We are here now trying to get settled which has been hard because we have been traveling a lot for weddings and holidays and our apartment has been under construction. It is going to continue to be a busy summer with two family reunions but we will get settled eventually. I am so excited to start visitng all my family and friends that are so close now!!! Jared started work at Wal Greens about a week ago.The day before he started his store got held up at gun point. Nothing says welcome to Wal Greens like a gunman seeking oxycodone. Other than that things are going well for him. Liam is growing and learning so much.He understands everything we say to him and he is saying new words all the time.He knows almost all the farm animal sounds and is getting good at signing. His favorite signs are please and thank you. He is also becoming more independent and strong willed. He has mastered the glare. He is hilarious and so much fun. Although things have been crazy we have had a good time and feel really blessed to be done with school and here in utah.

Liam and Cadie took a trip to Utah for Cassidy's graduation; we had so much fun. Cass is a graduate of Utah State University with a double major in Speech Pathology and Anthropology. That is a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts. Can you tell I am a little proud of her? She is amazing!!!

Liam took his first steps right after he turned 10 months. He started actually walking about a week before he was 11 months. He started out really slow and crawling half the time but now all he does is walk and he is getting really fast. He also just learned to get up by himself. Liam really loves dogs now. He gets really excited and always says or tries to say dog or doggy when he sees a dog. He couldn't get enough of Koda; my family's dog. Koda was very patient and gentle and let liam crawl all over him.

Sorry I haven't posted for so long. A lot of things have happened. Liam is crawling and pulling himself up on everyting. It is his favorite thing to do. He hardly plays with toys. He also has six teeth. Four on the top and two on the bottom. His front teeth have a gap. It is really cute now but I can see some major orthadonture in the future.
On a sadder note Liam got really sick over a month ago and we had to take him to the ER. It turned out he had bronchitis and an ear infection. It was awful but has recovered beautifully.
liam is starting to say what sounds like words da da or daddy , doggy, hi and sometimes when he is sad or mad he will sort of say ma ma. He loves books, songs, playing with his cousins, and getting into everyhing. He is even starting to eat better. Cadie is having so much fun being a stay at home mom.
Jared is working hard at his rotations.He is at Fry's now. We only have about three and a half months left. Jared recently had job interviews and got offered a job at Wallgreens in the Provo Orem area in Utah. We are really excited!!! Jared loves being a Dad. Liam gets so excited to see him in the morning and when he comes home from work. Things are busy but happy.Here are a few postings from when Liam was seven and eight months. Trip to the Zoo

Jared's brother Steven and His Fiance Amanda came to visit so we took them to the Zoo. It was a lot of fun. Liam's favorite part was the petting zoo.It doesn't look like it in this picture but he got really excited about petting the baby deer and goats. The baby goats kept chewing on his shirt and pants it was adorable. When Liam got tired of being in the stoller Jared carried him in the front pack. he loved it.

He crawls and climbs

Around 7 months old liam started pulling himself up on things like his crib and the couch. Soon after he finally started crawling instead of just scooting around on his stomach. Now he crawls fast and pulls himself up quickly onto everything here is a some video and pic of his beginings as a climber.

Everything is going really well with our family. We really enjoyed our Christmas vacation visiting family. Now Jared is back to rotations and Cadie is keeping busy with Liam. We are very blessed and happy.

We spent New Years with Aaron and Lori this year. We made good food, watched a movie and played games.It was fun! Lori and Cadie bought hats for everyone.

Reasha and Liam

We got to spend a little time with Jared's family during the Christmas Holiday it was a lot of fun but not long enough. Liam fell asleep on Reasha's lap while we were all playing Guitar Hero.

The Nativity

This year we spent Christmas with Cadie's family. Every Christmas Eve they read the birth story of Jesus and act it out. This year Liam got to be baby Jesus. He was asleep for the whole thing. After the nativity each member of the family gets to read, sing or say something about the Savior. It was a very touching program. I am so thankful for this tradition so that we can focus on Jesus during the Christmas season.

First Snow

Papa was so excited to take his grandkids on a four wheeler ride in the snow in the backyard so we bundled Liam up. He didn't show much emotion but he looked cute.

Cousins Sydney and Addy

Liam's cousins from Cadie's side came to visit. Liam loves his cousins. Sydney is four and baby Addy is 3 months she was premature so she is really little.

Mi Mi and Papa

I know Liam is is starting to recognize family even though we don't get to see each other very often. While we were visiting Papa taught Liam how to sort of crawl. He gets up on his hands and knees and moves a little then he plops down on his chest and sort of pushes his legs and scoots across the room. He is a lot closer to crawling than he was.

Liam started the shopping trip awake but then he fell asleep and I didn't have his car seat so I put him in the shopping cart on some coats. He slept like a log the rest of the time.

Grandma Goldston (Jared's grandma) made Liam a beautiful baby blanket and darling hat. She also made Cadie a purple scarf and hat. She gave them to us when we were there for thanksgiving. She is very talented. Thanks Grandma we love them! Here are some pics.

Here is a pic of my grandparents aren't they cute. My grandma sings songs to Liam all the time. He loves it. I also put a picture of their new eco friendly car. It runs on electricity and goes a max of 25 miles an hour. It beeps anytime you make a mistake and when you reverse. It is a tin can but fun to drive.

Who needs cereal

Liam didn't love cereal but the first time we gave him carrots he went crazy as you can see. He tried grabbing the spoon as usual so it got all over him but he did manage to get some in his mouth.
